So I’ve been holding this back…

admin

You’ve heard the saying numerous times: “Hindsight is 20/20″. And after any event, competition, season, month, or even lifetime you can see the “truth” much more clearly than you could while it was happening.

American Idol is no different. Throughout this entire season I have been closely following Adam. He was my favorite from the second he sang Bohemian Rhapsody in his audition and never once disappointed me. Two minutes after his audition, I bought this domain and this site was born. I believed then, as I believe now, that Adam will be a star.

Throughout this season, Adam has been hailed the next Elvis, a potential international superstar, and the greatest Idol ever.  But not everyone is as praising.  I’ve seem numerous message board attacks on everything from his style, makeup, eyeliner, and fingernail polish (not everyone’s cup of team, I know) to his sexuality.

Here’s the thing… I think Adam is comfortable being the springboard to have debates on sexuality, style, personality.  He’s incredibly personable, an awesome interviewee, and it’s obvious he’s comfortable being hisself.  He’s amazingly talented, yet humble.  He was the favorite from the beginning and seemed to bring the competition up to his level.  He wasn’t a star struck loner, rather become part of what seems to be a very close knit group.

I’ve read over and over on message boards and even been asked on Twitter “Would you want Adam as YOUR Son/Daughters role model?”, implying that I probably wouldn’t.  I totally understand if you don’t like Adam’s music or his style.  That’s preference.  He’s a bit over the top, even for me at times and I’m a huge fan.

But calling out his character?  The guy is fabulous!  Why WOULDN’T you want him to be your son/daughters roll model?  He’s gracious in defeat and there’s nothing bad said about his character.  He’s a talented, humble, awesome person from all accounts.  So he wears makeup?  If that’s his biggest flaw, I’d like for him to be my son/daughters best friend!

I think we forget what kids see everyday… Or we pretend we don’t see. I’m a little put off by the “he got what he deserved” and “his antics caught up to him” sentiment.  I ask you, “are you being a role model?”

Oh, and just for the record, I am a Christian, white, straight, republican from Indiana. And I’m not saying Adam lost because of this… Quite to the contrary.  He’s a lighting rod and had as many die hard supporters as stark critics.  But I do think we can take something from this, as a country… Call it a “Teachable Moment”:

Roll models come in all shapes, sizes, and finger nail colors.

Its been so amazing the last few days to browse through the internet and find these heartwarming testimonials how Adam has touched peoples lives in such a spectacular way. Its so overwhelming to read your stories and I really hope Adam himself can feel the support that we give to him. It feels like the entire world has come together in a joint effort to give Adam their love. As for me, I never thought that I could be moved by anyones talent and charisma in such a way. And I truly want to thank you Adam for all those incredible moments that you have given to us already and continue to do so in the future! All the best to all of you Adam fans from Finland! (Where the finale hasn´t even been aired yet…)

Adam was robbed from winning idol. All of Adam’s phone lines were not working for 2 1/2 hrs. Also, I have an AT&T go phone, when I tried to text my votes I couldn’t because my cell had SMS CENTRE and you couldn’t text. I called AT&T AND WAS PUT ON HOLD FOR 50 MIN. When I finally got to talk to a real person, I asked why that message, they said my settings had been changed, I told them that I didn’t change the settings and I live alone. I kept pushing for an explanation and finally they said that at&T had changed my settings and I asked why and she said that they do it all the time. she changed them back and then my go phone worked. this wasn’t an isolated incident, this happened to many others and I think they should be investigated. We the viewing audience are told that our votes determine the winner, that is a lie, they tampered with the phones. I refuse to watch this farce of a show and I called AT&T and told them to cancel my phone service.

Adam is the best singer, to ever grace the stage of AMERICAN IDOL…everyone who followed this season knows, he sang the best, every week and gave a STAR performance. WHY he didn’t win?
well, I guess, conservatism…he didn’t appeal, to everyone, but, this was a singing competition and he blew, every contestant away, not only from THIS season, but, ALL the previous seasons and I LOVED, Kelly Clarkson, Fantasia and Carrie. But, he will follow, Clay Aiken, Daughtry & Jennifer Hudson, to his OWN Stardom and have a long career, in this profession. I am a HUGE fan and did feel bad, he lost, as I truly feel, he DID deserve to win!! But, when you are THIS GOOD, you are already a winner, ADAM, so KUDOS, to you and know, you have ALOT of fans!!

    Hi there!
This is the first time I’ve been on this site so I don’t know who wrote the above article, “so i’ve been holding this back,” but I’d like to know. As I was reading it I felt like the writer was inside my head, reading my every thought and sentiment about Adam Lambert! Incredible. I could never put into words how I felt about this truly remarkable individual but you, writer, have done this VERY WELL – thank you!!
I absolutely love everything about him – from his fantastic voice and stage presence to his gratitude toward all those around him. What an amazing man! And I too have read several blogs that questioned his role model factor and how some people would not let their child be subjected to someone like him. Oh my goodness! Are they for real? They are entitled to their opinion, but I keep thinking about what my three year old daughter could learn from him: how to be thankful for everything and everyone around you, how to acknowledge those who have helped you succeed, how to listen to when others are talkng to you and how to accept criticism with grace and dignity, how to talk so eloquently to people especially when you are in the public eye – to know exactly how to say something (I can listen to him being interviewed for hours and be in awe of how he put things), how to build up those around you so they, too, succeed, how to set high standards for yourself and achieve your goals/dreams, how to accept defeat graciously, how to never stray from who you truly are no matter what people are saying, how to work hard to achieve what you want in life etc.. I can go on and on but I think you get my point. Adam Lambert is perhaps one of the greatest figures to have ever graced my tv screen and I look forward to what his future holds. I will be following it closely.

  • Julie Says:

Hi again. This is my first day on this website and I’ve already posted several times! Ok, so maybe that’s pathetic and I need to “get a life”, but I can’t stop thinking about how many people Adam has affected. There are alot of beautiful things being said about this man and I hope he has some idea of the impact that he has made.
I, too am angry that he didn’t win, but honestly, at this point it would be like getting the paper Burger King crown at this point…I vow to never watch AI again EVER and that was before I found out about the cheating “Christians” in Arkansas and the rigged phone lines and the power voting that was supposed to be illegal – the show is a farce and has lost all credibility – hence the title means nothing!
We have found an IDOL- in more ways than one. I am not gay (that I know of), but there are lots of ways to “feel different”……I have had a lot of losses in my life over the past 2 years, the most recent has been my younger brother to pancreatic cancer and my life has had this huge gaping hole. I haven’t felt passionate about anything for awhile…I don’t mean in a sexual way – I mean in getting excited about, looking forward to, believing in something REALL good…Adam Lambert has given me something to believe in and feel really good about. I guess in a way he’s inspired me. He vowed in the beginning of the show to always stay true to himself and he did that – he never faltered – that IS inspiring! Especially since he was being bombarded by the media. He was always gracious – and never ashamed of who he is. That is inspirational to me! On his AI page Q&A – one of the questions is “What is your proudest moment?” Adams answer “when
I fell in love”. I don’t care if that was with a man or a woman – that answer says a lot about the kind of person he is…so, maybe I am pathetic and maybe I really do need to get a life, but as alot of us are saying – Adam is a gift and I hope that he continues to grace us all with his incredible talent and presence. I for one, will be a fan forever.

  • EEK Says:

What a great site! I am a straight, midwestern 47 year old woman who thinks Adam is the greatest thing to hit the entertainment industry in I don’t know how long. Suddenly I’ve turned into a 13 year old teeny bopper again, I am such a fan! I know a lot of people think Adam was robbed, that perhaps that very segment of the population who feeds on bigotry and intolerance wrested the crown from him. I have to say, while there are indeed those idiots out there, I think the reason is a little less sinister: Adam, while a blazing talent, is a very polarizing performer. For all of us who adore him, there are many who don’t – simply because he is not their style – they were never going to vote for him. Also, I think Kris got the lion’s share of the Danny Gokey votes when he was ousted. I think those two factors more than anything played the most major role. I actually think in Adam’s case it’s best that he came in 2nd – he will be a bit less tethered to the AI “machine” and have greater musical freedom. Besides, he got what he needed from AI to have the career he deserves, and I for one am thrilled to see what’s next for him.

Now, to the points made about Adam being a bad role model. Yes, those bottom-feeders are out there, but I was reading on the AI Adam site post after post from grateful parents who said time after time how great a role model Adam is for their children: A humb.e, gracious, kind soul who is comfortable with who he is and makes others comfortable with it too, despite the black nail polish and guyliner. Adam has touched many many people with his voice and these special qualities – it made me proud to see that the ignorance out there is vastly exceeded by the goodness, tolerance and ability to value everyone no matter how different. It was lovely to behold.

  • EEK Says:

Hi, me again! I know this is an Adam Lambert site but I do have to add to my above post that I also think Kris has a very large — and well-deserved — fan base. I, like Adam, felt Kris was very deserving, he was my second-favorite all season and I couldn’t be happier for him.

  • Katherine Howley Says:

I can’t believe you didn’t win American Idol. I am sorry that I couldn’t vote for you, but in my mind you were definitely the best – in fact the best in all the years American Idol has been on. I can’t wait for you to get in gear and produce your first CD – I will definitely be buying it. I wish you all the best in your future. You should have won!

  • Sierra Says:

I totally agree that role models come in every kind of way.
But I feel that Adam is incredibly talented and he was jipped of the title.
But, (now ive thought about this all night) there are some pros to Adam not winning.
All I know is that he is my idol and I don’t care if he is gay, straight, black, white, yellow, blue, purple, or anything else. And i don’t care about the people who don’t like him. They just can’t handle someone who is so versatile (for lack of a better word). I love Adam and I will always be a fan. Rock on Adam!

  • Allison Says:

This was truely the first season of AI that I never missed a single show and it was all because of Adam Lambert! His talent is so far above and beyond any other contestant who has ever been on the show. His humility and the dignity in which he presented himself all season should be looked upon by all as how we should all live our lives! He stayed true to himself even in the face of personal attacks and constant questioning. You could tell that he was truely a popular housemate and friend to all his fellow contestants……even the ones who should have been “conservatives”. Adam is a ROLE MODEL, not only for our children, but for ALL OF AMERICA. He is honest, caring, charismatic, gorgeous, talented, and has the most heartbreaking voice!
Now the wait begins for his first CD! At least he won’t be held to any constraints by AI, which I truthfully was worried about if he had won. He can be himself, use all the artistic ability that we know he has, and let it all go!
Love You, Adam! You will always be this girl’s American Idol! Wish you all the luck in your future endevours!

  • Susan Says:

Why couldn’t anyone get through on Adam Lambert’s phone lines to vote for him on 5/19/09? I know this to be true because it took me till 12:45am to get through myself!

Why would Ryan Seacrest, during his opening remarks, state that, “some of you were not able to get through last night, but…”.

    But WHAT?

  • Anna Says:

In my opinion, I feel that this show is about singing, not getting into the contestants personal lives. But, I also feel that it was somewhat better for adam to have came 2nd. Reason being, is that he will have much more freedoms in his career than Kris.
People should not judge a book by it’s cover. His sexuality does not matter. All that does is that he blew every other contestant away.

  • Jen Says:

I liked Adam from the get go. I thought he was a great singer. I personally hated Ring of Fire. I didn’t really even know who Kris was at first. As the weeks went on he got better and better. By the end I liked both equally. I think they could both come out with great CDs. I hope one day soon I will be rocking out to an Adam CD and relaxing to a Kris CD. I am really tired of hearing that Adam was robbed or that Kris was so much better. Both sides are a little over the top about their support of one or disapproval of the other. Both are very talented. They have such different styles that they aren’t really comparable. I think that Adam started out more polished and pulled together (probably comes from his theatre experience). I think Kris gained in polish as the competition went on. All this talk about things being rigged (someone above said the phone longs were rigged for Kris to win) is stupid. I have seen supporters for both have similar stories. Good luck Kris and Adam. I hope you both shine bright in the years to come. And, you maybe should do a duet like We are the Champions. That was AWESOME!!

  • Jenni Dobbs (21) UK Says:

After a while the American Idol buzz fades and the artist stands alone. Adam has courage, passion and talent and he will have an amazing career. I can’t wait for him to tour in the UK!!

Kris is similar to James Blunt, Paolo Nutini etc – great easy listening material. Adam is similar to Axle Rose, Freddie Mercury etc who are legends who pushed boundry’s and who’s music will be around for decades.
The UK will love him. Camp, strong, individual, sexy. Anyone taking a risk and being true to themselves will be a hit over here.
“It is better to have lived one day as a tiger than a thousand years as a sheep”. Best of luck to Adam. You are AWESOME BABE!!!xx

  • Susan #2 Says:

Adam, I think you are the most awesome, talented male vocalist A.I. has ever had on their show.
Reguardless of the results…You are the winner! and will be for a long, long time.
I love watching you sing with such a powerful,
    fantastic,and incredible range of vocals.
You’re a great looking guy with a wonderful personlity and I wish you all the best.
I can’t wait to buy your 1st album.

  • J and L Says:

    Greetings from Thailand^^

Adam excites our little country. My husband and I, We were so hopeless about the fact that there were no true superstars in this world since MJ and other talented names of the 80′s era.. You know, even though we were so young at that time (now we are in our late 20′s)and our brothers and sisters were out screaming at them, we had had a glimse about the idea of how superstars should have undeniable charisma and wholesomeness in them.

The passion, the joy, the tears, the overwhelming feeling you get when you see your IDOLS, are the feeling you can’t control when you see them or just the silhouette of them on stages. Do you remember that feeling?

We crave for the moment like that with the idols nowadays, but it never happened. It’s not that singers these day are not great, they are. But I don’t seem to care about them so much that I buy their tickets or their latest CDs.

And then, along came Adam Lambert.

I started of watching audition clips and got disappointed at the first few ones, so I stopped and waited for the final 13.

The MJ week was, truly what interested me and I thought ‘wow, what a brave theme for AI show’. As I watched along, the contestants were just covering what MJ did and not even close to our memories of his greatness. I almost hit spacebar to stop the show because I thought, ‘well, the MJ theme is too big for these guys’. But before I did that, Ryan announced that Adam will be singing “Black&White” and I thought No freaking way anyone could be singing that song except for MJ himself. So I stay tuned.

His silhouette looks well-build and his body movement was so on beat, ‘This guy must have stage preference or was a dancer’. And then the spotlight hits him and I thought, ‘No, what? an EMO guy?’ I have nothing against EMO at all. I dig the EMO meaning, I thought it’s nostalgic and all, but I don’t like how some kids interpreted the EMO stereotype in superficial ways and that thought seemed to dominate me at the time, Adam was just another superficial wanna be.

After his first phrase, he made me smile. Well, I like the effort but after the whole song was sung. My husband, which is a die-hard fan of MJ, gave Adam a standing ovation in front of the TV. Looks like Adam stepped over the game and challenged the whole world with his genuine talent. And I , totally, completely changed my mind about his superficial appearance. He’s real and then, I thought he was daring people to like him or hate him. He went all the way, not in the middle but, ALL THE FREAKING WAY.

He’s not playing it safe. He’s not trying to be nice and comforting during his performances.

He penetrated us, in a good way though. And that could not make you think or be over analyzed about what he’s doing. You just FEEL, CONNECTED, and DRAWN into his emotions and vulnerabilities.

He’s fragile and strong at the same time. He’s demanding and begging in the same word. I don’t know how he’d done that but he surely breaks our thick ice that we sculpted it since, I don’t know… the 80′s? 90′s?

Adam is the true IDOL not just for Americans, but for the WORLD. I can say that ’cause I’m not an american.

Adam has IT and I can go on about how he touches every little part of everyone. I’m sure he has impacted on everyone, whether you like him or not.

    For us, Adam is wholesome

For the haters, Adam made them feel insecure. Maybe it’s because of him being androgynous made them not sure about their sexualities. Or maybe his being a little goth made the so-called good people thought of the devil inside them. Or maybe, just maybe.. When Adam screamed his love out, they can actually felt the pain and didn’t want to go there. So they play it save and choose another mediocre talent just for them to feel like home again… that’s just my 2 cents.

I hope ADAM very best in his journey. Make it yours. We will be waiting here in Bangkok, please take a tour concert here. We will sure be in front rows.

Take good care of you health too, Superstar.

    The world awaits YOU.

  • Rick wells Says:

I just bought all of his songs from Itunes…after listening to all the songs he is much better than I had thought. Never have heard this kind of talent before …yes, I am an old white guy, age 57..married with 5 kids and 2 granchildren… He simply has talent that we have not seen in years!!! Obviously robbed…but his attitued about all of that has been nothing absolutely respectful.to Kris, Idol and evryone….

  • fran Says:

Is there going to be any investigation regarding the constant busy signals, and mass voting from AK? I read elsewhere that AT&T actually gave phones out in blocks in AK, and showed people how to text in higher numbers. I know I struggled to get through the entire time on Adam’s lines. With the amount of money that show makes, it’s not like they can’t afford an adequate switchboard system on Finale night. Lame.

  • yvonne aussie adam fan Says:

Well maybe it is better that adam got 2nd in some ways. I am sure the show was rigged tho. Just compare – Adam is bold, not moldable , true to himself, awesome, experienced and now famous worldwide. Kris – nice, talented, safe, moldable boy next door. Hmmm.. Adam will shoot to superstardom especially now that his true gorgeous self has really shined through in the end. You will always be our shining star Adam!, .

  • micheline Says:

I say amen to that! your article says exactly what I have been feeling for the last few weeks. anyone who has followed Adam’s journey on American Idol cannot help but see what a beautiful person he is, besides the amazing voice and performances he entertained us with, his classy, friendly, warm demeanor just captures my heart. He may be different from what I am used to, but I would love having him has a close friend. We can learn a lot from him.

  • JACK MARR Says:

I am a died in the wool conservative Catholic Republican grandfather who can say unequivocally that Chris deserved to win American Idol about as much as if a YMCA junior swim champion was awarded the gold medal over Micheal Phelps.

I don’t believe it was a backlash against gays that defeated Adam who,in my opinion,is the most talented pop/theater singer/performer of my lifetime with more charisma than Elvis, more swagger, soul and sensuality than Mick Jagger, vocals equal to The 3 Tenors and exceeding Freddy Mercury, to go along with an unmatched electrifying stage presence.

It was a flawed system that allowed masses of tweeners and swooning teen girls who fell in love with the looks and the smile of cute, cuddly, sweet, affable but totally drab and boring Chris to vote multiple times until their cell phones gave out or their moms ordered them to bed.

Anyone with even the slightest musical background or awareness knows this travesty turned American Idol into a lame joke and will probably signal a death knell on future AI shows among serious music lovers. Adam is truly a world superstar, while Chris is a like a tasty, pleasant piece of cotton candy, one bite of his musical repertoire and it totally and instantly dissolves into an utterly forgetful fluff of sweet nothingness.

Years from now Adam will be remembered and talked about as a 21st century pop icon long after American Idol and Chris are, as President Reagan once said about Communism, “assigned to the ash heap of history”.

Adam will be the next megastar no matter which genre he chooses, be it show tunes, film, TV, rock albums, or even the phone book. But if I had the power, he would have to record an album of Scottish and Irish folk songs (including Danny Boy) which I guarantee would set all time records as millions of us old timers whose ancestors came from the old sod would rush to grab it off the shelves. I would then have him star in a revised version of “West Side Story” on Broadway which would bring down the house followed by a new movie “The Elvis Presley Story”, but allow him to sing the King’s hits in his own unique style and range. He could keep the guyliner, but the black fingernails would have to go.

Finally, I would book him to open the Super Bowl with his own rendition of “America the Beautiful.” as the jets swoop down over the stadium, followed by a halftime show of his own choosing, which would make the game itself almost an afterthought.

  • Rita Raciak Says:

For all us Adam fans, we need to sign up for a new release album at Amazon.com to show the folks at AI that we’re not giving up. Let’s demand an album for Adam too by putting your email address on Amazon’s list. It’s easy to do.
Just put in “Adam Lambert” and go to “Adam Lambert’s CD”. The rest is easy. I love the guy. He’s got the biggest talent I’ve heard in years. And what appears to be the biggest heart. I will buy everything and anything he creates. He deserved to win and will get his album if we support his efforts. GO ADAM!!!!!

  • Kari Says:

Adam is legendary. He can certainly sing with the best of them. From the moment I heard the first note out of his mouth, I knew then and there I was a die hard fan. I just have a couple things to say about the questions that have risen about his sexuality. The fact is that what Adam does behind closed doors is Adam’s business. I don’t believe that his being gay, bi, or straight has anything to do with the fact that the man is a legend. To tell you the truth, I’m actually glad he was the runner up. That gave him the exposure he needed without the contracts, red tape, and all that other hooey. That would have limited him, and you can’t put limits on a guy like Adam.It would be like making a peanut butter and glue sandwhich. It just isn’t something that’s done. Now he can just focus on creating an amazing album that I’m anxiously awaiting. For all you die hard Adam fans, he has a song online right now entitled “is anybody listening?” I have it on my phone and listen to it all the time.

And Adam, if you ever have the chance to read this, just know that your performances throughout the season left an imprint on my soul as well as so many others. You were the tattoo of AI. Your voice is an incredible instrument, and will stay with me forever. Kris is great, and I wish him all the best, but you,
you are astonishing. I can’t get enough and hopefully, I’ll never have to,You are what the world needs… So rock on darlin!
BTW, the guyliner is hot, and the guy behind it is smokin too!!

  • Lisa Says:

I am from New Zealand so I don’t get to vote, I have watched AI for a couple of years now, unlike last year when the two Davids came head to head there was no competition this year, Adam stood out from the very beginning. His attitude, his talent, his very being screams IDOL … I do not know how Americans have become so blind and tone deaf obviously that they could make such a humungous mistake.

I am a white hetrosexual female, and my husband and I both were positive that Adam would be the next Idol. I just don’t understand how this happened, I would if Kris could actually come close to being as good a singer or performer but if people were honest they would agree that all he has going for him is an ok voice and a great face … that should win him the title? I THINK NOT.

Adam if you ever see these blogs, know that your fans are aware of how robbed you were, you are gracious, loving, generous, vivacious, dramatic, fantastic and many many more wonderful things. When you sang you opened my heart, it was truly an honour to have you come into our lives this way. I wish only good things for you, you deserve the best.

In ten years you will be iconic, like Elvis, Mick Jagger, Freddy Mercury, Micheal Jackson … but who will remember the other one? whats his name again?

  • Liz Says:

I am from KL, Malaysia and have been following AI Season 8 from day 1. The moment I saw and heard Adam L open his mouth to sing, I was completely bowled over by his charisma, stage presence and vocal talent. There is no close match in this season…I knew from the final 5 contestant, that it’s either Adam L or Danny Gokey, but when Danny got booted…it had to be Adam!!

So imagine my great disappointment when Adam wasn’t pronounced the winner, something had to be wrong with those that had voted or not voted for him. I was telling my friends (AI fans) that HE is gonna be the next Elvis or Queen super star. I find it dreadful to know that even for a reality talent show like AI, you even get “rigged” voting and what’s this nonsense about AT&T making it difficult for AL’s fans to cast their votes?? That’s crazy and what about the external auditor they got to ensure a fair and just voting was done? What were they sleeping or in it too?

Winner or not, AL will and is already a super star… not all past AI winners make it big and some runner ups sell more CD’s than those crowned. So, don’t fret, OK… :-)

  • vinci Says:

Hello there! I too just love Adam Lambert.

Adam has graced the Earth with impeccable performances that even the gods would descend to give him his rightful applaud. His every note is the true essence of melody. He is outstanding whence before, every artists was just standard. He lost over Allen which should not matter if it was for the right reason. Lastly, he is gay and it matters in the world we live in where the lucid implication of his being the runner-up is that America may not be ready still for a full embrace of the community that Adam and I belong.

Let me continue. Not an inch of mediocrity is etched into Adam’s skin. I knew that a superb star is born when he gave us the privilege to hear his unbelievable voice. And week by week, he never disappoints us to be impressed and just be happy that we now have someone to watch out for… someone who is destined for greatness…someone whose existence will be the envy of idols before and be the inspirations of the future hopefuls. Today, he is someone I know who could have been but he will also be known to be someone who took the giant leap to free the suppressed world with his music…with by just being him.

He doesn’t need a title. He already has: ‘ADAM LAMBERT.’

I would have no problem with Adam being a role model form my son. To survive in this world, especially if you are unique or different (which my son is), you have to learn to be comfortable in your own skin. You also have to be extremely brave and confident in the face constant criticism, dissension and and sometimes even attack. Adam is all these things and my son will be served well to watch someone who embodies these strengths live them and be successful. I personally thank Adam for his courage. I also thank him for his charm and his talent. It was such a pleasure to watch him the last 13 weeks. He provided a lot of us with a great sense of joy and excitement. I look forward to whatever he does in the future. I will be following his career closely.

  • Dee Says:

I have to thank J and L from Thailand for your
comments. They are so spot on,I had tears streaming down my face by the end of them. What
am I, CRAZY? No, I am a 48 year old woman who was
totally moved by the talent and raw emotion of Adam Lambert’s performances. I wish I could thank him for that. Hey…I’ll buy all his music!

A great big Congrats goes out to Adam Lambert. My husband and I are still in shock over the results show on Idol. America, ARE YOU NUT’s…..This singer is so talented…so what if he’s gay, he’s a wonderful person in every sense of te word; he is a child of God as well. Chew on that for a little while. Even Kris Allen seemed almost embarrassed by the choice to crown him over the KING….All I can say is that I will definately be buying Adam Lamberts cd over Kris Allen’s. Sorry Kris, you’re a nice boy, but you just don’t have the musical chops when it comes to the longevity of a musical career. I think Kris will wind up in the catagory of Rubin, Clay and Taylor Hicks. Every week I watched Idol only because Adam was on. Every week it was Adam’s tunes that I downloaded off from Itunes. It is what it is……Thank You!

  • Lynn R Says:

I still can’t believe Adam didn’t win. It just makes me sick. I’m not watching AI anymore. He is an awesome person and entertainer. I can’t wait for his album to be released. I’ll be the first in line to buy it. You are a winner Adam!!

  • connie Says:

I am so disappointed Adam lost. He is the best. Chris cannot sing as well nor does he have the charisma, voice, or good looks. Chris is a bore.

  • ADDICTED TO ADAM Says:

I dialed 2 cell phones and a landline for the full 4 hours east coast time on Adam’s numbers and could only get through after 12:30 am. And then, it was like miraculous…every time I dialed, I got through. Seemed strange to me. Interesting to know what others experience was like too. ADAM IS STILL MY AMERICAN IDOL!

  • Witty Says:

Dee, you are not the only “older” woman who like’s Adam VERY much.. I’m 47 years old, mother of two from Finland. Adam is so great, I can’t even think anybody else so charismatic, great singer; he could sing in a stadium to thousands of people and everybody could feel his presence. It’s like magic… Unfortunately, I live here far away, otherwise I would come to the AI tour, just to see Adam. I hope, in the future, he comes to perform somewhere closer.
In Finland we haven’t seen the final yet, and don’t know if I want to see it! America is too conservative to choose someone like Adam for American Idol. Anyway, he’s the best ever. I don’t care what kind of music he sings (well, country would be little bit difficult:)). My favorite is Mad world, but I like all his songs so far. I hope he’s making great music, for all of us to enjoy!!

  • Silence Says:

I have to agree with everyone else–hearing all these great things about Adam is really amazing after we “lost”.

I also have to agree, he has to be one of the only people that is such a HUMAN but so passionate about being one at the same time.

I can’t wait to see what happens next.

  • QuietStorm Says:

I have visited many Adam websites, and I have not felt the love for Adam more, than on this particular site. I too, want to thank J. and L. from Thailand for their thoughts about Adam. They echo what I’ve been feeling and it brought me to tears to see it put down in words so eloquently! I love all of you people for loving him!! Also, one more note. I too had great difficulty getting through to vote for Adam. All lines were a busy signal for hours! Only in the last hour could I get through with no problem! Same thing happened between Clay and Ruben! Clay fans couldn’t get through, but Ruben fans had no problem! Hmmmmmm!!! AMERICAN IDOL: YOU HAVE GOT TO REVAMP THIS VOTING SYSTEM IF YOU WANT YOUR AUDIENCE BACK!! IF GIZMO CHEATING DEVICES CAN GET THROUGH, OR THE LINES ARE BEING TAMPERED WITH FROM WHATEVER ENTITY, THEN YOU HAVE LOST ALL CREDIBILITY!! NOT TO MENTION YOUR AUDIENCE!!!

  • rusky Says:

I turned to my wife and said this guy reminds me of Robert Plant or Freddy Mercury. I was mesmerized by the way he put the body movements and facial expressions into his performance.
So it continued every week. Adams interpretations of music truly put him in an elite group. What i have a hard time grasping is how Adam was not already a star. How could such a talent fly under the radar for so long. Anyway, we all know what we heard and saw. Which is the start of something great. Something we’ve all been wanting, a true Idol to be born on American Idol. As they say of the N.B.A. finals this year,”WE ARE ALL WITNESS’S!” There is truly no limit to the joy Adam is capable of bringing to the world.

hope he’s ready for “Beatles” like receptions throughout the world!

  • Patricia Sivec Says:

Basicly everything that needs to be said about Adam, has been said. However, here I go. Adam will be Iconic. He is a force to be recconed with. (I do believe that Idol is responsible for blocking people from voting for him on the final performance. Too many people had problems getting through. Let’s face it, they make more money on having a secondary as winner…enough said on that.) If it wasn’t for Adam, Kris would have been a natural winner. He certainly beats out back stabbing Clay Aiken from season 2. Back to Adam – He is the only one who has sparked people who were in need of someone wonderful to idolize. This man will ace all forms of the entertainment world. I personally can’t wait to see him star in a movie. He’s got mezmerizing qualities that will bring him great fame. I do hope, however, that he doesn’t let anything we say about him go to his head. Stay Steady Adam !

  • rusky Says:

Adam is a class act! If one of my 6 kids picked him as a role model, I would have no problems with it. In fact here i am at 45 years of age, he’s my role model.

  • Karen Says:

Everytime I hear Mad World I get the most sensational chill down my spine….Adam Lambert is the best, most refreshing singer/entertainer I have heard in a very long time. I can’t wait for him to release a record. This was the very first AI season I HAD to watch…and it’s all because of Adam. I will forever be an Adam Lambert fan…

  • Tara Rodriguez Says:

Listen I voted for him using my regular everyday phone and always get back a message confirming my vote. This is ludacris I thought I was the only one. My votes did not go through until the following day meaning that confirmed message came the next day which would mean my votes were not counted as for everyone else I’m sure you agreed now that since we all believed it was by far that Adam deserve to win but that he was cheated out of his votes. The fact that AT&T handed out phones and showed them how to do votes in multiplies is wrong AK get your own damn phone why cheat like that.

  • lindajean139 Says:

To me the best we can do is make a statement. I have downloaded everything he has on Itunes. I even downloaded No Boundaries twice…ok I got carried away but to me it sends the biggest statement. Who is the best seller.

I was a teenager when Elvis burst on the scene. Nobody and EVER seen or heard anyone like him. He was DIFFERENT and many thought he was goihng to be bad influence on us teens. (Thank goodness my parents weren’t like that. They loved Elvis, too). Not since those days have I seen or heard a performer with Elvis’ talent and charisma. ADAM IS THE NEW ELVIS!!!!! Not only is he super-talented, but he is NICE AND HUMBLE….just like Adam.

I think the above article is right on target with the problems and issues surrounding Adam lambert and Kris Allen as the true American Idol. And first I would like to say that I like both of them. They both seem like very nice young men.
However, this was a talent constest and Adam had the greatest talent. I knew it from the moment I saw him. Does he appeal to my style and music choices? Sometimes, not all the time. But the one thing that remains true is his talent and I enjoy watching him along with my 3 year old daughter.
What disgusts me the moist is that neither Adam or Kris can completely enjoy their fame and success because of all this controvery. For Kriss many commnet that he doesn’t deserve to win and for Adam, comments come about not allowing him to be the idol and role model for our children because of his makeup and sexuality.
Give me a break! I am a straight laced, 38 year old catholic woman living in the south with a three year old daughter. My daugther watches Adam’s performances every night on Tivo or on my iTunes. She loves him! Am I scared or worried? Absolutely not!! Adam is a remarkable person with great style and if he happends to by gay, then who cares and why does it matter? Idol fans all love queen and Elton Jon. Hello!!! Freddy Mercury was GAY and so is Elton Jon and many more exteremely talented individuals. I want my daughter to grow up recongizing that every one has beauty and talents to offer regardless of race, religion or sexual preference. I am shocked that Kara and Randy called out Kris’ performance during this “socially conscious” time and it was good performance. Maybe America should have listened to that performance instead a spewing a hate campaign on someome as nice and talented as Adam, regardless of his sexual preference.
Good luck to both Adam and Kriss. I will be seeing you in Memphis. Looking forward to it.
In the meantime, all you conservative biggots keep quiet.

there is something truly ” SUPERNATURAL” about ADAM. Everybody’s drawn to him..maybe it’s true what one psychic said – ADAM is the reincarnation of ” ELVIS”

  • bl Says:

This blog says it all. I consider myself lucky to witness the rise to the superstar that will be Adam Lambert. AI will never live this one down. Even though I’m grateful for them because thats how we got to know Adam, the end result just killed it for me. Adam is the most mesmerizing, polarizing figure to come along since Elvis and I am ECSTATIC!! Thank you Adam I LOVE YOU.

I agree WHOLEHEARTEDLY that Adam is a great role model for all the reasons you (and most of the comments) speak of. I’m 56 and SO glad there is someone, like Adam, to set the example of being who you are but respectful of others views too. I admire (and envy) his confidence (and TALENT) to challenge “the norm”. I wish him the very best future possible. I WILL buy his albums no matter what he creates. He’s the BEST “total package” in so many ways. Thank you Adam for being so grounded and talented and gracious and appreciative and did I say talented! Thank you MR/MRS Adam Lambert’s parents too! Love you ADAM!
