I’d say that because people thought Adam was homosexual (as being homosexual is still somewhat considered a ‘taboo’ in America), people didn’t vote for him. Also, no doubt people didn’t send in their votes because they thought Adam was surely safe, so they didn’t think they needed to bother, whereas the Kris Allen fans (a lot of them teenie boppers who wasted tons of money texting in, no doubt) thought they really needed to ensure Kris won.

Kris is talented, sure, but compared to Adam, I’m afraid Kris isn’t nearly as good. Not only does Adam have amazing vocals, but he can sing a wide range and was excellent when it came to changing his song choices and making them his own. I think Adam will be way more famous than Kris. Already he’s outsold Kris by double and with anyone I talk to (tons of people about this topic), everyone knows Adam, but are just like, “Who the heck is Kris?”

Simon would’ve never passed up the chance to sign Adam. (I mean, Simon even gave Adam a standing ovation one time!) In a way, it’s better for Adam that he isn’t limited by an American Idol contract. He has more opportunity with a contract that doesn’t, for lack of better words, control him and what he does.

Also, Adam and Kris were great friends and anyone who thinks Adam is an arrogant jerk is ignorant, for Adam is extremely polite, grateful, generous, and an overall nice guy.

Once i asked a kris allen fan who despised adam to death, told me that the only reason why she hated him was because he was gay. It’s just all funny that people are judged based on who they are, but not for their incredible innate talent. I bet kris allen fans are people who have just one concept of singers and lack the ability to appreciate Adam’s avant garde yet classic style. They’re just retarded. And Kris allen fans, don’t blame Adam for this article, because this is only Simon Cowell’s opinion, not his.

I partly agree and partly disagree. I agree with Simon that Adam should be in the finals (AND HE WAS!!! YAY!) Want my reasons Oklahoma momma? Okay, well first: have you EVER seen someone deliver a performance the way adam does? no, you havent.
second: he can hit high notes like nobodys bussiness and still talk (and sing beautifully) the next day.
third: if you really dont care about the singing part of the competition, adam is just an all-around nice guy. he is gracious for every compliment he gets, and strives for success for himself and others. also, he is a huge kris supporter and thats so sweet! :]
fourth: LOOK AT THAT GUY!!! please tell me that is not hott and be telling the truth!! oh wait.. YOU CANTTT!!!!
there are so many reasons, but this post doesnt need to go on forever!
okay, so the part i totally disagree with, THE DANNY PART!! danny CANNOT sing!! i have no idea what 1/3 of america was hearing when they were voting for him! really? and “scream on” didn’t even get him kicked off? shame on you America! are you seriously saying that that AWFUL shriek (ahem adam TRYING but NOT SUCCEEDING to be like adam) was better than kris? no, kris is WAYYYYY better! i love kris to death (but not as much as adam <3) and kris really deserved to be in the finals over danny. if danny were in the finals i probably would have broken my tv! and if danny had won… *gasp*! imagine what would have happened….

I do not think anybody was trying to halt “Kris” momentum”, but you had to be deaf not to realize the poor guy was dying tring to sing “No boundaries”. I felt sorry for him, but feeling sorry for somebody who needs a break (as he is so apparently inferior to Adam) should not be the criterium for picking a winner. Adam is better than most established stars. Thank you for making 2009 Idol the most entertaing ever, I will buy your album. If they make a compilation of all his performances on AI this year, I would buy that in half a heartbeat.
