Adam Lambert Offered Lead Singer of Queen?
According to his Fox 5 interview, there has been SOME discussion, but he’s pleading the 5th on whether they’ve made an offer! This could be amazing, although like Daughtry with Fuel rumors never came to fruition.

I thought of Queen the moment I heard Adam sing. I know a 62 year old woman is probably not the demographic that the powers that be cater to, but I’m telling you that He knocks my socks off. He should cerainly be given the chace to strut his stuff in an audition. I think Freddy would be the first to agree.

Please goodness no! Sorry to say but Adam can’t hold a candle to Freddie Mercury. He was one of the best EVER and while Adam is good, he isn’t even remotely in Freddie Mercury’s league. Hopefully the remaining members of Queen have more sense than that.

OMG, my sister and I thought something like that happened….you probably asked NOT to win because you had better offers. To see you with Queen….THAT would be a DREAM. I always wished I’d been old enough to see Freddie…you’re about the only one that could do those songs justice….Lord knows they could use you! It would be SO COOL, for a little while at least.

That would certainly be entertaining to see in concert. I just don’t want anything to disrupt his flow of becoming a superstar on his own. I can’t wait for his album. It’s bad enough that the Idol tour puts all of their recording on hold for the summer.

Adam Lambert is the first singer I have listened to that holds the incredible vocal range and capacity of Freddie — and he gives us the same unique, dynamic and lovable stage presence we Queen fans have been missing so much. I LOVED seeing the synergy between Adam and Brian May. Let’s bring the Queen legend back to full vibrancy — Adam as lead singer can do that!

Adam would certainly be the one for the job, but I think signing on for fronting a band would cage him in. I could see him as a guest lead singer with Queen for a rock fest here and there, but he truely has so much more to offer. His talent is so broad it is hard to think of Adam in just one type of genre. I would like to see him the lead in Phantom of the Opera for example, but equally doing a rock classics album, and a soulful heartwrenching love songs album. He is just so diversified, what ever shall we do with this multi-talented young man? All I know, as a straight retired Air Force mother of two, is that I will follow his work–and even purchase his CDs, (keep in mind I have not bought a CD in about ten years, but I want to be sure to support Adam’s talent.) Thank you Adam, for staying true to yourself, and keep sharing your gift with the world. Get a tough skin for the critics, they will always be there, but that is just jealousy and envy.

I hope Adam says no and goes his own way. That’s what Daultry did. He turned down the group’s offer of lead singer and stayed on his own. I hope Adam does the same. Congratulations Adam on being not only an American Idol but World Idol .

Hey Adam! I have watched AI from the beginning and have never seen a star of your quality, one that makes me anticipate the next night of songs. I am going to have big time with drawals from them! Thank goodness I was able to download all of your videos from AI so I can watch them over again. By the way, when you sang Mad World on the last night, vampire movie came to mind!!! You would have been great as the lead in Twilight!!! You have the most gorgeous eyes I have ever seen. I am 52 and my heart was just a pumping!!!

My wife and i don’t normally watch Ai but we did last year near the end because David Cook was outstanding, but Dude F**K me Adam is AMAZING!, sad i Know (you know red blooded male and all that) but we looked forward to Ai every week just to see what Adam was going to come up with. ADAM is just so much more exciting. He got his career going now. Who cares for the crown – the results is nonsense anyway. One Hometown got 38% of votes hogged. Guess Adam’s hometown is just too cool to vote much whereas the other one has not had a celebrity before in their lifetime.

To think that Adam has got endorsement from Kiss, Queen and their fans (its not easy to please Queen fans as to them, Mercury will be unbeatable) is a real feat. After watching “We are the Champion”, they have to make Kris sing solo first, else we cannot pick up his voice at all.
Kris will fill churches, but Adam will fill stadiums. On the other hand, if Adam got converted to Christianity (by God’s Amazing Grace), and with his charisma, he can fill churches too.
Pray for this to happen.

I kind of agree with some of the folks who have said he shouldn’t do it. It sounds good in theory, but Adam should focus on doing something more contemporary, not joining up with a band that’s been around for 35 years. Plus, Adam was unique to AI. If he just tries to fill someone else’s shoes (not to mention, the shoes of someone who was clearly a big influence on him), he will lose that uniqueness.
Subbing for Freddie Mercury would be hard for ANYONE. I didn’t even like when Paul Rodgers joined the band and he’s my favorite rock singer EVER. It might be kind of cool to see Adam play with Queen on a few occasions, but a regular gig probably wouldn’t be as good as it sounds. And he’s already made a name for himself on AI, so joining an existing group could be a big step backwards.

It’s not just America that loves Adam, I’m a music student in Israel and I’m here to tell you that Adam’s all the talk on our campus.
Every once in a while, an amazing talent comes along who can conquer all fronts–Adam is one of those, and the world is going to LOVE him!

No one is expecting him to BE Freddie Mercury.
But Adam Lambert is a hell of a lot better fit for Queen than Paul Rodgers EVER was. Fact is, Lambert can make Queen relevant again. I would love to see that tour happen.

We’re thrilled that Adam may have a chance to sing with Queen…BUT we feel that Adam should start his own band. He is SO UNIQUE, TALENTED, and just a complete joy to watch and listen to. We feel he will be the most memorable star of this decade. We will support him always. We’re going through withdrawal now that we can’t watch him every week on AI.

Ahhh! I would be so happy for him… although, I would be disappointed at the same time. I was kind of really hoping to hear what he would come out with himself… if he’s with Queen, they already have their own sound. Still happy for him though because that’s an amazing offer!

I agree with Nicki’s comment on 5/23. Adam should remain his own person. Queen is great but Adam is meant to be a solo. He’s too fab/multi/great to share his glory with anyone else. Adam, don’t let that media hype get to you.

I think it would be great if Adam made his album

I saw Queen with Paul Rogers (formerly with Bad Company) at the Hollywood Bowl in 2005. It SUCKED. It was more like going to a Bad Company concert than a Queen concert. They sang about the same amount of Bad Company hits as they did Queen songs. Paul Rogers CANNOT sing many of Queen songs, he doesn’t have the voice. They actually played a recording of Freddie Mercury for Bohemian Rapsody.
If they get Adam to sign on at least for a tour…I would be lining up right now to buy tickets.

Adam is a fantastic vocalist and performer and he definately outshon all the other contestants… I was devastated that he didn’t win AI but he is already a super star and a rock God. To front queen and step into Freddie Mercury’s footsteps is a very big shoe to fill but I believe Adam is capable and would love to see him sing with Queen. And I am old enough to know Queen well and have seen the great Freddie in concert so I do believe that Adam would be fantastic but also he should concentrate on his own rock album which will be an immediate number one and he will have sellout stadiums worldwide. NO!! definetly NOT!! Adam is far to good for either Kiss or Queen. He needs to go out on his own, and give his fans what they want, Him!! his music, his vids, music from Adams soul..not some has beens. Adam will be bigger then both of those groups. He need not cut him self short. I love Queen & Kiss, don’t get me wrong. Adam is in another league. Like none other.. and No! I’m not a groupie. I just know talent when I see or hear it. Kiss…OK, I can see that. Queen.. NO, the only thing he has in common is he is gay. Everyone I know says they would never buy another Queen album if he joined the group. The only reason everyone here is saying it is a good fit is because they are fans. Non-Adam fans typically would not visit a site called adamlambert.

Fronting Queen, nooooooo bad move! Queen was great, Freddy was great, a legond but their time has come and gone and Adam is so fresh, current, original, and NOW. He needs to front his own band and do current rock music. I’m just sure that’s what he will be doing and can’t wait to see him live fronting a current band. I’m most curious as to what type of rock he will be doing, hopefully not something with a pop edge. Hopefully it will be rock, current, and new.

On his best day never with Queen, He said that on that one interview, then very next day it changed. AI owns him now atleast till the summer special is over and I really think could be two year contract. I never beleive that Queen offered him anything. Maybe they just was talking to him about them needing a lead singer but not offer.
Queen would have come out and said it, right up front. They are much older than Adam.
I think Adam is a great showman but not a great singer. Let him do his showman stuff, but let Kris hold the title he earned. Why are any of you being so mean as to act like Kris did not win. He won fair and square let the man know this. And he is a very good singer, just not a showboat.

I think that it could be good for Adam if he accepted, but he’s not Freddy Mercury. He does, however, have one of the best voices I’ve heard.
