In the wake of the devastating earthquake last week that left Haiti in ruins, ET and The Red Cross are teaming up with the Hollywood community to lend support to the major crisis in Haiti and now best-selling singer Adam Lambert has come exclusively to the ET stage to help in the effort.
How you can help: Financial donations can be made at www.redcross.org, 1-800-REDCROSS or 1-800-257-7575 (Spanish) or mail your donation to the American Red Cross, P.O. Box 37243, Washington, D.C. 20013 or to your local American Red Cross chapter. The public can also help by texting “Haiti” to 90999 to send a $10 donation to the Red Cross, through an effort backed by the U.S. State Department. So the biggest news of the new season might not be Paula leaving or Ellen joining. It might just be that this will be the victory lap for Simon Cowell who will be leaving American Idol after the season to start an American version on his hit The X Factor. While this is stunning news for Idol fans, it could be a blessing in disguise. We’ll still get to see Simon on Fox and Idol could drop a peg, allowing it to tone down a bit on the “bad” and become more about finding the best talent. Then The X Factor could be another huge hit that gave us more stars. Who knows how it will pan out, but we can dream, right?
Here’s a 4 part interview on SIRIUS XM. Adam goes into more detail on his performance, talks about his past, and opens up in this candid interview.
Adam Lambert AMA Performance: “I Was Just Interpreting the Lyrics” on SIRIUS XM
After his steamy AMA performance, Adam sounds off during his CBS Early Show interview. Here’s some of my favorite quotes:
“I admit I did get carried away, but I don’t see anything wrong with it,” he said. “I do see how people got offended and that was not my intention. My intention was to interpret the lyrics of my song and have a good time with it.”
Offered a chance to apologize, he declined.
Lambert said he didn’t consider that there may have been children watching while performing the steamy “For Your Entertainment” because his AMA performance came at nearly 11 p.m. when children should be in bed.
“I’m not a baby sitter,” he said. “I’m a performer.”
After getting canned by Good Morning America, Adam was invited to the CBS Early Show to perform his new song Whataya Want From Me
